Heart of England Way (100 miles) from Milford Common on Cannock Chase to Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds and the complimentary circular walk linked to Heart of England Way, The Arden Way (26 miles) in Warwickshire form part of E2 - the European Route
The routes are clearly shown on Ordnance Survey EXPLORER Maps as Long Distance Recreational Routes (green diamonds) (Red on Landranger) and are recognised by the County Councils of Staffordshire, Warwickshire,& Gloucestershire, as well as the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull, and other District and Parish Councils
Walking Heart of England Way takes you through 100 miles of wonderful "middle England" but the weather can be quite different at either end and in the middle. Due to the very nature of the valleys and the high ground (for example we go to within 15 feet of the highest point on Cannock Chase - the Iron Age Hill Fort of Castle Ring has a trig point(now a mark on the gound and ot a white pillar) at 801 feet above sea level - check the conditions before you walk. Our Weather page links you to local information
