Heart of England Way Association

10 of us met at the Green Man, Middleton for a 4.1 mile circular walk led by Bill. A slight diversion near the start due to deep mud which Bill kindly tested out for us to his detriment. A few awkward stiles at the beginning showing this path isn't walked regularly. However, a very enjoyable morning walk with some lovely surrounding countryside.

Ten of us met at The Navigation in Lapworth for a 4.3 mile circular walk. A pleasant walk organised and led by Bill which took, in part, some of the Heart of England Way in Baddesley Ensor. Weather was kind to us except for one short sharp shower. Once relieved of walking boots at the end, all ten of us went for a quality lunch at The Boot, Lapworth. An enjoyable morning walk with nice friendly company

We met at Blackroot car park on a very winter morning with sleeting snow all around us.

We set off at a brisk pace down through some little used paths down to the mill stream then on to Keepers Pool.
There used to be a lido there build circa 1887.
It was burnt down and the area cleared circa 2003.
We headed up through Holly Hurst Woods over towards Powell's Pool, not visible through the snow.
We took a right turn here, passing by the memorial known as The Jamboree Stone where the 1957 World Scout Jamboree was held. We headed across to Darnel Hurst Woods, over the railway bridge and off left down to Little Bracebridge Pool.

We had a welcome coffee break whilst being entertained by the Heron who successfully caught his lunch.
It was very picturesque, with the snow settling around us.

We carried on over the many wooden bridges to Bracebridge pool.
Passing Druid's Well on the way.
From here we took a right down through Pool Hollies Woods, under the railway bridge and walked along the path back to the car park where we had lunch at Blackroot Bistro.

Six of us met on the car park next to the Blackroot Bistro at Sutton Park on a cold and snowy morning, this was soon forgotten as Carol led us on a just over 4 mile walk.

Very enjoyable and a beautiful park to walk in, we stopped for coffee beside one of the pools watching a heron fishing and finding Carol's secret path through a mysterious wooded area ending up back at the Backroot Bistro for lunch before leaving for home.
Excellent.
