After a successful programme of walks along the Leicestershire Round in 2018 and early 2019, we then began walking the Wyche Way in 2019.

The Wyche Way remains our current challenge.  However, due to the current circumstances, the programme for 2020 has been postponed to 2021.

If the position improves greatly by October, we might consider inviting members on a local walk, followed by a luncheon, thereby enabling us to meet up and have a chat and update on arrangements for 2021.

The Wyche Way is a long distance path, created in 2015, that links two national trails, Offa's Dyke Path and the Cotswold Way.

The name is best known from an old 'Saltway' crossing of the Malvern Hills known as The Wyche Cutting, used by packhorse transport in the middle ages for salt from Droitwich to South Wales.

The walks are between 8 and 11 miles each.

Details of how to join up for the programme can be found below.

The anticipated cost of coach travel for 7 trips (March to Sept), payable in advance, is currently being calculated, as is the cost of a single one off trip (when available).

The Johnsons coach leaves Brueton Park, Solihull at 8.00am prompt on the respective dates, and usually arrives back at Solihull between 17.00-18.30 hours.

Each Sunday walk is generally between 9 and 11 miles, and arrangements are usually planned for a pub stop at the end of day's walk, enabling us to socialise, which has proved to be very popular with existing participants.

On each walk we pause for a morning coffee break, followed later by a pre packed lunch break

During the walking season, a monthly email is sent to all walkers, approximately a week before the walk, updating details for the forthcoming Sunday and advice on how to contact if unable to walk at the last minute for some reason or other.

As we normally book a 20 seater coach, there is spare capacity for newcomers, who would be most welcome. The number of people signed up determines the number and cost of one-off attendances (payable on the day) when there are spaces.
